A Birthday to Remember!!!

When I was looking for a good Canadian national anthem to post yesterday I came across this little ditty from the biggest birthday party Canada has had to date and this was the anthem for the year! I was 18 years old and became a Canadian Citizen that year.
If you are a proud Canadian or love this country turn up the volume and enjoy!
Happy Birthday Canada and many more!!!!!

I feel very fortunate to have been born and raised in Canada as opposed to many other places on the globe, especially being female. But I find our national anthem depressing... the music, the lyrics, the tune? I dunno exactly what it is. Sorry! ;-)

I'm so glad that you posted the Centennial Song though... now THAT is a song that I can get behind...

Rah! Vive le Canada!
Three cheers Hip, Hip, Hooray!

That inspires oodles more feelings of patriotism within me than the national anthem ever has.

I remember, I actually remembered the words and sang along. I was living in Montreal in those days and turned our house into a bit of a rooming house for the duration. It was the best time of my life. It does make me remember how old I am now though, sigh...ciao
