SkyWatch #36

Sunday was a 50 km bike trip day, the surroundings are still rather bland around here with no colour in anything but the sky and it was absolutely stunning.

Of course I couldn't get on the bike and not go by the lake and check things out. Shoreline fog added a new deminsion and colour to the horizon.

The sun was doing its magic.

More beautiful blue.

When I lay back on a picnic table to take a rest I could not resist this photo! Whichever way you look at it, it is great!

Click on all the photos for better views and this photo makes a great screensaver....feel free to use it!

Happy Spring everybody!

The ice looks majestic. But I am ready for the sun to do its magic and melt the ice and add some colour to the trees.

All your photos are beautiful. Living here in California though, its the block of ice that's melting that has really struck me. I don't get to see that at all.

Enjoy the weekend. Hope your thawing continues.

Thanks for taking us along on the trip. Love that melting ice, sunlight and gravity make a great artistic team! We finally got open water along the Erie north shore here, but we also had a few flurries this afternoon :-(

I hope you had a soft saddle on that bike! From what I remember, Prince Edward County is fairly flat, right?? I love your pictures in this post. That "ice cube" is amazing.

Looks like you are enjoying yourself. If that is what is left of the lake ice it must have been something in mid-winter. I invite you to come see my clearing sunshine. - Margy

What a wonderful collection of shots! Your sky was a brilliant blue, and I am sure your color will come... just look what the fog did to create a splash of color. Awesome, the ice. Wow. We don't see anything like that down here.

Great SWF photos. Like some of your folks that commented before me, I do like the picture of the ice melting. Thanks for sharing.

The house is so strange to Scottish eyes - just placed on the ground with no surrounding bit of garden, but open to the woods and fields.
And that ice by the lake is - epic!

Incredible wall of ice! The upside-down tree is magical too.

The sun really did it´s magic in so many ways. The church organ of an ice berg was simply great.

Love your pics of the shore ice. I always have mixed feelings about letting go of winter (or anything else), but let's tilt in and welcome spring.
