SkyWatch Friday #35

Yesterday a cold front came screaming through southern Ontario on the back of winds gusting up to 90 km. per hour. The neighbour and I went for a walk on the dunes of Sandbanks Provincal Park. It was wild but glorious!

What looks like water breaking on the beach in the previous photo is actually ice.

Think it is a little early for picnicing!

For more great skies from around the world go to SkyWatch Friday

Yep, yesterday was wild and windy here in Ontario. Wonderful photos of the lake this time of year.

I simple love that last image...I know it is not the sky, but it calls to me.

Oh that looks cold! We had a pretty good (i.e. bad) wind chill here, too.

Thanks for the visit. Actually I'm not back in Powell River yet. I have one more week here in Bellingham to help my mom, but I thought a little poetic license wouldn't hurt. The snow pictures were actually from my last trip, but it would have look the same on Monday after the most recent dusting. Looks like you are enjoying your visit. Will you be there long enough to enjoy a warm picnic? - Margy

I love these pictures. You could convince yourself you were looking at a sandy beach. It was 3 degrees when I took my skywatch photos. Today it is -15 celcius...brrrrr.

Both are pretty, my eyeballs kept rolling between the two. :)

Thanks for coming by my place. I really appreciated you kind words.
I'll have to come back here often. I love to see nature photo's, and to learn about the places that other bloggers live!

Oh, that is magnificent! I love the beach look at winter-time. It looks like a lovely place to walk.

The word verification is fumbob. That is a funny word.

Beautiful! I would have a picnic if it wasn't too windy. I eat outside a lot when skiing. Thanks for visiting my blog!

You're braver than I - a beachside walk is definitely not what would occur to me on a day with 90 kph winds! Beautiful shots though, that's for sure.

The green water in that first photo is just gorgeous. I'll bet it was cold on the beach, but seeing the wildness of nature is always a thrill.

Oh...I love those waves. What a wild scene. You had gorgeous weather for your outing in spite of the cold. Hopefully, spring will reach you soon. Then you can have a picnic! Thanks for your visit to my SWF post...
