SkyWatch Friday ~ Red sky in the morn....

I was up early Wednesday morning to see a friend off and was seriously considering going back to bed when I thought "what the heck, lets see what is happening in blogland". Reading away I was oblivious to the dawning day but when I looked up the sky was on fire. The first shot was through the window with reflection, shake and a flash and did nothing to capture what I was seeing but when I grabbed my coat and headed up on the dune...

I was blown away, figuratively and literally! This was the prelude to a screaming southeaster.

For other beautiful skies from around the world why not join us at

What an amazing sunrise. You are fortunate.....as a lot of us our at work inside a building with no windows during sunrise for a great part of the year. Thanks for sharing.

I like the randomness of the first shot a lot. Really red and screaming sky was there waiting for you.

I'm glad you kept trying for a good shot because this one is spectacular and I love a pink sky!

What an interesting spot you live in ... and a perfect place to participate in skywatch and watery Wednesday!!! You've some amazing sky shots.

Feeling an earth quake is such an interesting experience ... glad the house stood up to the "wave".

Beautiful red sky. We are in the midst of a huge north east blow down here in Bellingham and it is supposed to last at least another day. Very cold too, but clear as a bell. - Margy
