Our world here is being turned upside down. We have had no significant rain in over two months. (These photos were taken at noon today in a cloudless sky!)
The temperatures have reached all time record highs and although we are reassured there are no fires on Haida Gwaii there is lots of smoke as the rest of British Columbia is fighting for its life in the worst fire season ever. For those of you not familiar with the fire story in our part of the world you can go here for more photos and information.

I don't live in your neighborhood, but we have had very little rain this year and we live in the *tropics*. Ack! Setting temperature records way too many days in a row. I feel for you. Good luck. I hope you have rain and the fires stay away.
Looks like a smokey old summer. I know how you feel about the smoke last summer when the busfires in Australia broke out the sky was hazy here 3000 km away! Good luck I hope you all keep safe.
We have been experiencing the same, hot smokey days. But today after the heat set in and evening came it cooled and I hear we will have a cooling trend and maybe rain. I hope it rains where all the fires are!Wishing you a cool breeze and summer rain.
Beautiful snaps. The outline of far off hills is very nice
WoW...some very beautifully captured shots!
I am amazed that the vegetation still looks green.
Nice "hot" looking pics
Having experienced this smoke two years ago, and seen the power of the fires, we're so aware of the devastation they bring. Hopefully they'll burn out/be brought under control soon.
Carolyn: Weather can be so fickle, we have been below normal all July and have rain every couple of days. Sorry for your awful temperatures and dryness.
I hope all is well there and rain comes soon... I wish we could send you some of ours.... I no longer complain with our rainfall since seeing how other bloggers have to cope each year... Blogging as opened my eyes to many things.

That's a lot of smoke. I hope you get some rain and cooler temperatures soon.
That's horrifying! I sure do hope the rain comes for you.
Breaks my heart to see all the people worried about there homes and lively hood. I think we switched weather. We have had so much rain. I wish I could send it out to you. I remember what it is like to have all that smoke around.
