SkyWatch Friday #30

I am always amazed at how the land, sea and sky can become one. This scanned photo was taken the first day I came to the Islands in 1999. I had arrived by seaplane from the mainland and my introduction to the islands began with a drive out and on to North Beach. I remember asking my host to stop so I could get out and take a picture...my first on the islands! I was amazed at how a beach could give up a reflection and how everything became one!

You have an artist's eye. This picture is worth 2000 words. I doubt it will be very spring-like in Ontario if you come in the next couple of weeks. We are heading to Ottawa on the long weekend and hope the cold weather lasts for Winterlude. Then spring can come :-)

That reminds me of the days I lived on Cape Cod, digging for clams on "South" Beach ... Those were the days!

That is an amazing shot with such silvery colors. I love your composition with the person walking away from the camera toward the sea. Lovely.

Thank you for this, so much!

That photo is glorious!!The way all the colours are shades of the same colour, and the clouds are reflected in the water! The person adds scale to the whole, which might have been anchorless without!!
What an auspicious beginning to your life in the islands!

That is an exquisite picture! I have never been to Haida Gwaii, but I was born on Vancouver Island, and Parksville often looks like that.

Gorgeous!

An amazing shot, and you have many others on your blog. You live in a place I've always wanted to visit. I'm quite a bit south on the mainland (Powell River). I'll be following your posts now that I found you. I invite you to come see my foggy contribution. - Margy
