It's truly amazing how that rock looks like it'll fall over with the slightest touch.

Third balanced rock I have seen in my lifetime. One outside of Albuquerque, NM. This one fell down. One in CT area just last May. Now this one. May I ask where this balanced rock is located? Excellent photography by the way.

That's a wonderful shot. We have a glacial erratic here in town. It's at the corner of, you guessed it, Glacier Street. - Margy

The Balance Rock in silhouette looks like one of nature’s magic tricks that also sends a message. :)

Haida Gwaii, what a wonderful place. The new name evokes images all by itself, and your photos bring them to life. I hope I can get there some day. "So near and yet so far," I'm afraid.

Great photos. That reminds me of our local Balanced Rock, although there's no water in the background of ours.

Hi Carolyn — Thanks for reminding me about the train. Maybe sometime next year when my husband is going to Edmonton on business, I can hitch a ride. (We're in southeastern Alberta, near Medicine Hat, but I'm a British Columbian at heart.)

Great shots Carolyn. Even a herculean effort can't budge that one. Glaciers are a force unto themselves.

Thank you for your kind comment earlier.

Thanks for coming south to view my sunset. We've had our new composting toilet in for about a month now, but haven't used it a lot since we've been away from the cabin helping my Mom quite a bit. But what we've experienced so far has been fine. We have a solar panel to run the fan in the exhaust pipe. It runs continuously while we are at the cabin, but we turn it off when we leave. There has been absolutely no odour and it is easy to use. Plus, we wanted to buy something carried locally in case we need assistance in the future. So far it has been one of the best upgrades to your cabin. - Margy

So glad you included the human in the middle photo, to give us an idea of how big that rock is!!! I love the way you have captured it in silhouette!
