SkyWatch Friday ~ Blue Glorious Blue

The Toronto skyline from the Toronto Islands
Southwest Ontario and Toronto specifically has been the hot spot in Canada this week with blue skies and temperatures in the high teens.
Knowing that snow could still fall(it is still winter!)
Looking west along the Scarborough Bluffs
a daily hike has been on the agenda this week.
The trees are beginning to loose their starkness
and the ice has left the lake
Looking west from the Toronto Islands
and the dirty sky of industry creeps along the horizon
Guildwood Inn gates
but it is wonderful to feel the warmth of the sun.
For other great skies from around the world join us at SkyWatch Friday and remember all pics can be enlarged for more detail.

Nice photos as usual. I really like the lake shot with the small plant highlighted in the foreground. Last night I saw a nice program on PBS about Canada. It went from the east to west coast, but really only focused on the big cities. But your first shot of Toronto made me think of it. But you and I know, there's a lot more to Canada than big cities. - Margy

These are all wonderful! I love the city shot in the first photo! Seeing people relaxing and taking in the scene is quite nice. I wouldn't mind being in that spot too. The water with the grass is exquisite. Beautiful skies and I bet you are happy that spring weather is in sight.

Definitely a good day to have a hike. I particularly love the first photo were the people are sitting down, relaxing & admiring the view.

What amazing panoramas you have in Toronto, and all the more wonderful with those bright blue skies.

Marvelous captures, Carolyn! I love the first shot! It is wonderful seeing people enjoying the warmer weather. We're having the same here in Seattle the past few days and it's supposed to stay around for the weekend! I know you're glad to see it, too! Hope the grandbaby is doing well! Have a great weekend!

These are so wonderful photos! The colours in all of them are great.
But I love the second and the last one the most. In the second one it looks like there is a spider web in the sky.
And the last one with the gate is just awesome.
Have a great weekend and happy skywatching:-)

I love the way you captured the changing light--especially as it danced on the water!

Hi there;
First time commenting, I enjoy checking in occassionally. Found your site because of my interest in Haida Gwaii, my daughter moved to Masset with her family in Sept.2008, we have visited a few times and love it. She blogs at www.theharrisfamilyadventure.blogspot.com. Congrats on becoming a grandma! Are you heading back west soon?
