Watery Wednesday ~ Where waters meet

(Click on any photo to enlarge and see more detail)
Went for a walk on Sunday to the mouth of the Tlell (tell-lel)River which in Haida means "place of great surf and abundant berries". The day was perfect and the colours phenomenal.
Ocean water mixing with fresh water at the mouth of the Tlell River.
When the tide comes in the Tlell River reverses direction for six hours twice a day for about five kilometers up river.

There's something quite eerie about the meeting of waters, and the surface movement from currents down below.

Wonderful! That is neat the way the river reverses. Thanks for the pics!

Lovely photos. Can you actually see the flow of the water reverse? Does the fresh water back up until the tide starts to go out? Very interesting!

Beautiful day. We haven't seen sun or blue sky in a long time. I heard on the news one of your ferries had a very rough trip. - Margy

Carolyn: Leaving near the ocean definitely gives you some new things to learn with the tides, neat photos.

Hello, Carolyn...I've come over to visit from Margy's blog. I'm so glad I found you...your photos touch my heart. They are simply beautiful.

We almost moved to your lovely Island, not so long ago. As this did not happen, I am looking forward to visiting...and getting my fill of oceanside walks!
