My World Tuesday ~ Happy Birthdays

There are two special celebrations this week. On Wednesday, Canada celebrates its 142nd year of Confederation and our great neighbours to the south are celebrating 233 years of Independance on Saturday.

Today I pay tribute to my adopted country, Canada and what better way than the singing of our national anthem at our national game...hockey!
Happy Birthday Canada!
Why not celebrate other great places around the world by joining us at MY WORLD TUESDAY!

Canadian flag and American - why don't we just erase the border and make it one happy land?

Great Birthday post for our two countries! We may never be one, but that may be a good thing, who knows???

Let's only remove the border if we can keep two birthdays; this world needs more happy times, cake and ice cream (although I'd prefer a nice pizza myself...).

Great post Carolyn!

Well, being born and raised in Michigan, and having lived so long time in Alberta (FLAMES country, ahem) I feel kind of like it's one big country, and I celebrate both.

Happy Birthday Canada indeed! I have a great soft spot for your beautiful land as we lived there for some years and our son was born there.
Please stay separate from the US of A. Bigger is not always better and best friends often are the better for NOT sharing a house. The bigger the government, the worse the administrations and above all, vive la difference!

I once asked my Canadian friend to sing his national anthem. Looking somewhat stunned and embarrassed, he replied, "How should I know? I haven't been to a hockey game in ages!"

Happy Canada Day!

Flags get me every time. They give shape to the air we breathe and suggest very beautiful music.

Happy birthday up there!

Carolyn: "Oh Canada" certainly is appropriate for this occasion and at a hockey game to boot. Thanks for remembering our upcoming celebration also.
