Be still sad heart and cease repining;
Behind the clouds the sun is shining,
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life a little rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

I wonder how they got all the shoes in the one area? Or maybe they just have good aim!
I love your new header!!
If the shoe fits...
Welcome back!
Thank you for the reminder of a beautiful and meaningful poem I had nearly forgotten. I think you must be an artist, Carolyn, to have made running shoes hanging on a wire look so enchanting. :)
Pardon my ignorance but is there a meaning behind hanging shoes on a wire? Is it an expression of friendship or loss? Or am I reading too much into it?
I've missed you and I'm so glad you're back!
I've always loved this poem and thanks for posting it, dear Carolyn. Looking forward to more of your amazing photos!!!
good to see you back! And with a fun photo to start the new year. Best wishes for 2011.
So that's what they do when the lost and found bin gets full! Glad you're back.
I really like this shot! What a whimsical thing to do - my sister's town has a tree where all of the old shoes end up over the branches.
Welcome back - I've missed you!!!
Interesting shot of the miscellaneous shoes against eh blue sky.
Glad to see you back.
I seldom leave comments on blog, but I have been to this post which was recommend by my friend, lots of valuable details, thanks again.
I just love the shot. Probably not the best for the power line though. - Margy
