September was the month from hell with consistently strong winds and rain, rain, rain.
However October has given us the fall we all need,
with cool nights and beautiful sunrisesand wonderfully warm and bright days
and peaceful sunsets.
The sunshine has allowed me to finish a paint job I hadn't been able to complete due to the rain and a difficult spot. The roof on this addition is corrigated clear plastic with a ten inch over hang. The roof shingles on the house are old ashphalt and very dangerous....I am a robust 60 year old who does not want to feel the pain of a fall. The addition is built on an cliff with a 50ft. bounce and drop! With a little help from my friends we rigged something so I could have the satisfaction of finishing what I started. The addition will be painted next spring after the wood seasons.
So I now get to enjoy more beautiful sunsets!

I didn't realize Thanksgiving came at a different time in Canada.
You are brave to climb on a roof with a 50 foot drop! I'd be terrified.
Beautiful photos. I'm glad you've gotten some good weather in October.
Happy Thanksgiving to you in Canada! Beautiful pictures!! Happy Skywatching!
that's a nice place to be!
come see my skywatch if you have the time!
have a great weekend!
Carolyn, what wonderful photos of the sky and nature and your house and additions.
Great satisfaction to get finished what you started.
We are engaged in building a shed in which I will have one end for my studio. I have missed my studio for 26 years ever since we had everything burn down.
Don't work too hard and hage a great Thanksgiving.
That looks a seriously difficult paint job. Good for you managing to get it finished - it does look very much freshened up. And lovely October skies - as you say, a real gift after your September storms.
That was an awkward bit to get to. Very pleased to know you erred on the side of caution in tackling it. Now the place looks great and the views you will enjoy from the addition are just heavenly.
I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. You photos are all wonderful. You captures some lovely skies. Thanks for sharing your skywatch.
Beautiful skies. Great captures!
Thanks for the great info on Canadian Thanksgiving! You could do a blog post on that.
I laugh at time to think what we go through to get a good shot...
Sky Watching can be dangerous at times... ;o)
The results a stunning..
I am happy October season has brought nicer weather for you...and those are some fabulous photos. Truly breathtaking. Thanks so much for sharing : )
The colors of your house are wonderful! And the colors you captured in the sky are pretty fine too. So glad you are being careful when on the roof!
Happy Thanksgiving, Carolyn!
You realise it rained because you were moving (or it it just me that it always rains when you move?).
;-)
Gorgeous photos, as always.
Happy Thanksgiving Day – do you also eat turkey like in the US or do you have another traditional dish? What a beautiful addition with great possibility for outstanding shots.
Stunning, great and absolutely beautiful pictures for the skywatch! Amazing post!
Beautiful!!
We've been helping our friend John build his new cabin. It is scary just watching him on the roof. Your view down is even longer and steeper! I'm glad it all came out so good for you. - Margy
