I am the daughter of Earth and Water,
And the nursling of the Sky:
I pass through the pores of the ocean and shores;
I change, but I cannot die.
For after the rain, when with never a stain
The pavilion of heaven is bare,
And the winds and sunbeams with their convex gleams
Build up the blue dome of air,
I silently laugh at my own cenotaph, --
And out of the caverns of rain,
Like a child from the womb, like a ghost from the tomb,
I arise, and unbuild it again.

Gorgeous skies-- it looks like the inside of a grey pearl. Beautiful poem, too. Thank you for sharing!
That first picture is just so splendid and peaceful, I ache to be there and a while on the shore. And maybe let Shelley's poem reverberate through my mind.
Oh, superb shots, Carolyn! Love them all, particularly the first one!
Have a great weekend!

Your autumn skies are beautiful! The Cloud by Shelley is one of my favourite poems.
There's something about autumn skies. I can't quite name it, but whatever it is, it is there in those wonderful photos.

Your beautiful skies just keep on giving. = Margy
Glorious shafts of sun, but with just a hint of winter in the middle shot.
