Pet Pride ~ Throw Away!

I am a very observant person however riding a scooter, at dusk on an isolated road I am even more observant. As I travelled to my destination I saw this black "thing" in the middle of the road. Thought it was a rock, however as I got closer it ran. I stopped, walked back and talked softly.

Seconds later this beautiful little kitten came running up to me...six kilometers from the nearest home. She was too friendly to be ferral....she had been tossed! I wrapped her in my scarf , jipped up my jacket and took her home. She nearly took my finger off when I offered her a little chicken....she was starving. She slept on my chest over my heart and purred all night!

I have two cats and the house I was staying at has a home owner who has animal allergies so I took her...Miss Molly to the local SPCA....the hardest thing I have had to do in a long time. I visited everyday and spent time playing. No one called for her. How can people just throw away an animal, a pet?

I am pleased to say that Miss Molly was adopted locally(I tried to convince this visitor to adopt her!) and is doing well and I will have the pleasure of pet sitting her for three weeks. Please remember to support your local animal shelters and SPCAs.

Oh, such a sweetheart! I'm so glad you could rescue her, that's she found a good home AND that you'll be able to see her again!

Have a great day!

All of our 3 cats were from the Humane Society. They are quite a trio!

But our local general store told us they had a cat that was stray. He visited every day, looked pretty scrawny and seemed alone. They called us and we brought him home. He hid in the basement. Turns out the real owners put up posters in the general store and we reunited the cat with his young owner. Oh My!!!!

That is THE sweetest face! I'll never understand just abandoning any animal, but I'm glad her story had a happy ending. Did I mention that FACE!!!

Oh yes, she's a cutie. Who could not melt looking at that face?

A sad tale, but it has a good and happy ending.

Thanks for sharing.

Awww, I'm not sure who is sweeter, the widdle kitty or the very kind woman who tucked her into her jacket.

Wonderful stuff, Carolyn. :-)

Thos is such a nice story. The kitten is so precious – I have two cats but if I had seen her on the road I would have taken her in too. You have a kind heart and it shows.
