However the tell "tail"(cirrus clouds known as mare's tails) signs of what was to come swept in. These are Monday photos, Tuesday the average wind speed for the day was 68 kph with gusts to 110 kph and summer isn't even over yet!

Wow! This scene seems so calm and peaceful...it surely was the creme in the Oreo cookie! These are gorgeous scenes and photographs! Awesome post!
I always ate the cream out of the oreo first anyway! Fantastic shots!
Have a great weekend!

Carolyn: Those are certainly a beautiful captures at the waters edge.
Nothing better than cookies!!!! And it takes a tornado or two to make you appreciate them!
Great skies, great waters.

Oreo cookie day! lol!
Carolyn, you should consider a career as a meteorologist! Just think of the fun... 'Today is going to be a chocolate pecan pie sort of day with apple crisp skies moving in overnight. The weekend looks like lasagna...' haha!
And you know it would be more accurate than the actual forecast! ;-)
Oh, well, I guess perfection can't last, but these photos are definitely the cream. I love the Oreo cookie description!
Beautiful scenery and the skies are wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic shots.
beautiful blue!
Those are beautiful calm skies and don't hint at the mayhem that was to follow. An interesting place you call home.
What an interesting simile you've chosen! Glad you had a moment out of hte wind and rain to capture the "cream".
A serene scene and beautiful landscape and sky.
Wow, that is some serious weather! Your photos are gorgeous. There is something so appealing about still waters!
What a great description.. :O)
You must really appreciate these jewels of a day when they're interspersed with stormy weather.
One of the advantages of blogging - we tend to record these special days more.
