April 21st was my last day in Prince Edward County and my last walk in Sandbanks Provincial Park for now as I start my journey back to the west coast.
So with the dogs we decided to challenge the mother of all dunes, the Everest of Sandbanks at 160 feet! This is looking west towards Toronto.
All I can say is that if you live anywhere near this remarkable Provincial Park give it a visit. From the top we could see the whole area - looking north to the town of Wellington.
Looking northwest towards Trenton, Ontario.
Looking southwest towards Niagara Falls.
For more beautiful skies from around the world why not join us at
SkyWatch Friday.

It does look like a great place to ramble around. I haven't been to serious dune since a road trip to Cape Cod in my twenties (ages ago!)
Such large dunes there make me curious about finding out more regarding the geology of the area. Obviously part of the great inland sea? Safe travels to you!
An amzing landscape. I bet you don't want to leave.
Wayne and I hope to travel east this summer for a bit of a holiday. We'll put it on our places to visit, that is if we can tear ourselves away from the cabin. We are having a short stretch of really sunny, warm weather this week. Next week it may even get up into the high 20s - YEA! Have a safe trip home. - Margy
Beautiful shots Carolyn, visiting your blog is always a joy.
Have a great weekend.

What a beautiful spot, I wish I could have joined you on your walk.
Very large sand dunes, great place to take a dog for a run. Also to just give yourself some space away from the hustle bustle of city life.
Soak up the peace and the quiet
I've enjoyed my look at Prince Edward County during your stay. Thanks for showing it to us. I wish you a safe and pleasant trip home - you have my email addy if, as you pass through, you have time for a coffee!
Beautiful skies over those beaches. Safe journey.
Carolyn: Beautiful photos of the sky at the sandy beach.

Not only did you get to visit family, you got to visit a very cool park as well. Good thing it wasn't windy!
Looks like you've got great weather for strolling around the dunes. What vast skies you've captured. Nice! Thanks for visiting my SWF post. Enjoy your trip back home.
Beautiful skies and dunes. Hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip back to the west.
What an amazingly beautiful place! Love the smooth colours!
Apart from the bare trees, that top photo could be a tropical beach. It's been great visiting this part of the world with you.
Thanks so much for the beautiful pictures. Wow. Hope your journey back to the west coast is fun and easy.
Have you ever caught a pic of the Northern Lights? I would love to see them sometime.
